Tips for saving Energy

February 5th, 2008 · No Comments · General

1) Were you aware that it’s better to take a shower than a bath? A 10 minute shower uses less water.

2)When doing laundry use cold water to save money. Use only full loads in the washer or set your washer to the \size for the amount of laundry you have in it.

3) Set the water heater at 120 degrees or lower for normal use.

4)If you need a new fridge, buy one that has Energy Star. That purchase will save money each year.

5) Using the microwave or toaster oven for heating small portions will save energy since you aren’t heating the large oven in the stove.

6) Skip the drying cycle on the dishwasher to cut that energy use in half.

7) Caulk and weather strip around your windows. Invest in insulation. Use compact fluorescent bulbs in your lights. All this will help save energy and lower your electric bills.
