Were you aware that exercise does more than help you lose weight? It can help control your blood pressure, decrease the risk of heart attack, boost good cholestrerol, lower the risk of stroke, help reduce the risk of breast cancer and type 2 diabetes, improve your sleep, elevate your mood, lower your stress, and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Lots of things it can help. Now, please remember that the type of exercise you do will depend on your own abilities to move around. There are lots of exercises and equipment, but walking will do if you don’t have the money to spend on fancy equipment or you can’t bend over for one reason or another.
You would need to walk for at least 20 minutes to half an hour to get a good exercise session. Speeding up the heart rate is the result you want. Try walking for at least 10 minutes a day and build up the amount you walk each day. Try to do some speed walking, then slow down, speed up for a few more minutes, then slow down. Don’t overdo it. Do wear a decent pair of comfortable shoes or sneakers. Better yet, find a walking buddy in your neighborhood and do a few blocks together while talking. Good luck!
