After all, there tend to be many insane people in the world. Just look at all the crazy people in Washington. They passed a stimulus package that is supposed to help create jobs and make everything all right again. What they don’t realize it this won’t happen overnight! It will take years to get things moving again. But their Master pushed at them until they bowed down and did what they were told to do. it will be just fine and things will be wonderful very soon. It’s not going to happen that way, you crazy people!

This mess didn’t happen overnight and it sure won’t be cleaned up quickly. It’s taken decades to get the U.S. to where it is today…in a major “traffic jam” of extremely bad economy. Putting the blame on the past elected officials isn’t entirely true, either. You need to add the bank ceos, mortgage brokers and real estate people to the list. They all helped contribute to the downfall of the economy. It’s sad that no one really can point a finger at the one major person who started the ball rolling, but that will never happen. There are too many greedy people who took advantage of a decent economy, told home buyers they could afford that mortgage over $1000 a month, and then laughed when homes began to be foreclosed. They didn’t care because they had gotten their commissions and bonuses.

We, as a nation, have to be strong and fight back. We can do it, but it will take TIME. That’s something President Obama doesn’t seem to think we have. He is rushing into this and that project as fast as he can. He will run out of steam very soon if he keeps that energy level going. Is he researching these things before he jumps right into the fire? Is he really trying to be the most wonderful president ever to be listed in the history books as not only the first black president, but the one who got the most done in the first 100 days? I have some advice for him. SLOW DOWN! Listen to the people out there, not just the people who surround you in Washington. Listen to the little people, the ones who have the small businesses that have kept America going all these years. The ones who are struggling to make ends meet week after week. Your fellow Americans who want things to improve, but who aren’t willing to go too far to make that happen. Your fellow constituents in Washington were voted into office by these people and they should be listening, too. It’s time to fight again for America, home of the brave and the free. Can we please have America be fruitful again? Prosperous and strong? We need to work together on doing this. One nation under God. I’ll be praying for America and I ask you to join me.

Obama’s First Presidential Prime Time Speech

General

My Opinion

Obama

president

speech

stimulus package
<guid

He stood there acting like he ah was going to talk forever ah about the things that he is trying very ah hard to push through the Senate and the ah Congress.

I think by now you have the picture. Here was the President of the United States in front of billions of people worldwide and all he seemed to say was “ah”. It was like he was trying to gather the wool out of his brain to be able to say the things that he wanted to say. Perhaps he should have someone help him next time and rehearse so he doesn’t use that “ah” thing. It was getting on my last nerve!

Now, what he did have to say was that he needs to have this stimulus package pass as soon as possible or we are all going to go down a huge toilet. Obama sounded like a child who needed the toy that was being held just out of his grasp. He was the injured party because both side (Senators and Representatives) aren’t playing nice and being fair to him. I am not thrilled with the speed in which Obama wants to hurry the stimulus package. I am not thrilled with the pork that is still in it. I am not thrilled with the way this whole episode is being handled by the people we voted for. But, since I am an American and I believe we have rights in this country, I will loudly state how I feel and know I will not be executed for my feelings, thoughts, or efforts to improve life in the United States. This is my opinion. If you want express your feelings, good or bad, please do so. I would prefer you not to use vulgar language on my site. Thank you.

Stimulus package- “the best we can do”

My Opinion

McCain

money

Spector

stimulus package
<guid

He told the Senate, “Personally I would prefer not to be on the edge of the pin, as so frequently is the case in this body. But I do believe we have to act, and under the circumstances, this is the best we can do.” After receiving calls from the public he felt the stimulus legislation was a very unpopular vote and had too many expenditures. Some callers said not enough money was being spent.

Approximately $145 billion in spending was cut from the bill. If it didn’t help create jobs, then it shouldn’t have been in the package to begin with. Spector also said there were some reasons to argue that it’s a bad bill, but he felt the economy would be worse off without it. Senator John McCain (Repulican, Az) said if the legislation passed it would be a very bad day for America. Now we wait and see what happens when this bill is passed. Will it create the jobs so badly needed to get people back to work? Only time will tell. For some Americans who have run out of unemployment time is a huge issue.

Stimulus package

My Opinion

hybrid vehicles

McCain

millions

pork

stimulus package

wasteful spending
<guid

Then why was there some huge “pork” in the stimulus package just passed through the House? Over 30 wasteful spending provisions were in that package. Such as $246 million for tax breaks for Hollywood producers to purchase motion pictures, $650 million for DTV converter box coupons, $248 million of furniture for the new Department of Homeland Security headquarters, $600 million for hybrid vehicles for government employees, and $1 billion for the 2010 Census. Senator John McCain said two questions should be asked about this pork: Does it take effect within the year? Does it create jobs? If it won’t help with either, then it doesn’t need to stay in this stimulus package.

House approves humongous stimulus bill

My Opinion

billions

Democrats

House

Obama

Republicans

Senate

stimulus package
<guid

This package includes spending increases and tax cuts. It’s Obama’s plan to revive the economy. The vote was 244-188. Republicans unanimously opposed this bill despite Obama’s pleading for bipartisan support. Now this bill goes to the Senate. The Democrats want to have this legislation ready by mid February for Obama to sign. $275 billion will go for tax cuts for individuals and businesses. Tax cuts calls for $500 breaks for individuals and $1000 for couples.

Rep. Randy Neugebaum, Texas, argued that the entire cost of the bill would just add to the soaring federal deficits. He asked a very important question, but was widely ignored. “Where are we going to get the money?” I would also like to know the answer to this question. I fear Obama will be the biggest spending president ever.
