He stood there acting like he ah was going to talk forever ah about the things that he is trying very ah hard to push through the Senate and the ah Congress.

I think by now you have the picture. Here was the President of the United States in front of billions of people worldwide and all he seemed to say was “ah”. It was like he was trying to gather the wool out of his brain to be able to say the things that he wanted to say. Perhaps he should have someone help him next time and rehearse so he doesn’t use that “ah” thing. It was getting on my last nerve!

Now, what he did have to say was that he needs to have this stimulus package pass as soon as possible or we are all going to go down a huge toilet. Obama sounded like a child who needed the toy that was being held just out of his grasp. He was the injured party because both side (Senators and Representatives) aren’t playing nice and being fair to him. I am not thrilled with the speed in which Obama wants to hurry the stimulus package. I am not thrilled with the pork that is still in it. I am not thrilled with the way this whole episode is being handled by the people we voted for. But, since I am an American and I believe we have rights in this country, I will loudly state how I feel and know I will not be executed for my feelings, thoughts, or efforts to improve life in the United States. This is my opinion. If you want express your feelings, good or bad, please do so. I would prefer you not to use vulgar language on my site. Thank you.

Obama- history in the making-is there hope?

My Opinion

economy

Iraq

Lincoln

Obama

president

unemployment
<guid

Will he be able to find the right combination of ingredients to give the people of the United States a better economy, end the war in Iraq, and create jobs? This is a huge burden placed on his shoulders. Are those shoulders strong enough to carry this burden for even a short time? We will have to wait and see.

On Abraham Lincoln’s 200th birthday Obama will be sworn in. How fitting to be on this day. Sean Wilentz, professor of history at Princeton University said this moment “speaks of a hunger for leadership and a hope that he (Obama) will be it.” Yes, we need a leader, one who will be strong enough to deal with all the obstacles being dumped in his lap.

With the economy in a slump, unemployment at an all time high, and two wars going on where American soldiers fighting terrorists, Obama will have his hands full. In a poll taken by the Associated Press-GFK, 37% of the people polled felt Obama will be an “above average” president while 28% thought he would be an “outstanding” one. Some of the media seem to have declared Obama and his family celebrities, claiming he will be the “paparazzi president”.

Obama modified a few campaign promises. He isn’t going to push for the instant repeal of the Bush tax cuts due to the economy. Everything will take time including withdrawal from Iraq and shutting down the prison at Guantanamo Bay. Obama has shown an ability to learn things quickly and can change course if necessary- vital things for the President of the United States.

The New President Elect

My Opinion

future

Obama

president
<guid

I wonder how things will be for the people of the United States in 2009. Will we be taxed to the limit? I am discouraged at this moment. I suppose time will tell, but I still am in shock that someone like Obama can win the biggest election with practically no experience. If that is the case, then perhaps I should run for office. I have zero experience in the political scene, but I just might win! Time will tell.

McCain

My Opinion

House

laws

McCain

Obama

president

Senate

vote
<guid

I have not done so to McCain. Why? Because he seems to be a more realistic person, someone who doesn’t seem to want to take anyone’s bull, someone who will push the legislature into finally doing something good instead of stuffing pork into bills and laws to be signed. I believe he would be a good president, much more than Obama.

McCain and his running mate Palin seem to be the type of people who will try their best to do the right thing for the American people. They seem more dedicated to finding out what people want, remembering the hard times and the anger people have with those hard times. Some of what McCain has been proposing may not be voted into laws. That’s why we have the Senate and the House for bills to go through first. That’s always been normal in the past. Just a few more weeks and we shall see who gets the most votes for President. I only hope the one who does win won’t turn out to be a mistake.

The Economy

My Opinion

economy

finances

president

recession

stocks
<guid

The stock markets seem to have rallied somewhat and the economy is getting just a little bit better. Last week I was very upset to learn I had lost almost $2500 on my 401K plan due to the stock market being so low. The news was depressing and I felt like I had gotten shot out of a cannon. The feeling was not one I want to have again any time soon.

President Bush and other world leaders seem to have gotten something done over the weekend to get the economy rolling again. We’ve been told the recession won’t be a long one. I hope this is true. I would hate to see the entire world having financial problems. Jobs would be in jeopardy, people would be laid off, riots would more than likely occur. This would not just be in the United States. The biggest question is this one: Will a new president be able to continue to not only lead the U.S. in the world markets, but will he be able to deal with the recession, making sure his people will be able to live comfortably? This is something I wonder about. We need good leadership. We don’t need lies and deception, corrupt government, or the feeling there is no future for us.
