href="http://hiddensoy.com/WP/2008/02/06/soy-protein-dangers/" target="_blank"> Dianne Gregg. What an eye opening book! I never realized too much soy in the diet could cause some of the problems I was having. Bloating, nausea, a feeling that I had to throw up, diarrhea and gas. I did go to a gastroenterologist to see what he could find. Alex even questioned soy, but the doctor didn’t seem to think that was my problem. After reading this book, I think soy may be at least part of the problem I am currently having.

Dianne stated in her book that she learned she was severely allergic to soy. She had almost died due to eating what she considered a healthy diet, which included soy. She began to gain weight, felt sick to her stomach, had nausea, diarrhea, and then almost died due to anaphylactic shock. All because she ate and drank a lot of soy products. She learned the hard way, but she wrote this book so others won’t have to learn as she did. Soy is not good for everyone.

No longer does Dianne take life for granted. She has to be very careful not to let soy ruin her life. Perhaps that is what the rest of us should also do. Cutting back on the amount of soy in your diet may help lessen problems in the future. Children are subjected to soy on a daily basis, even babies. Soy is in baby foods, soy milk, soy bars, cereals and more. We as parents have to be on the look out for dangerous things our children may eat or drink. Read labels when you are in the grocery store. If the label states soy or lecithin, and some vegetable oils in the first three ingredients, then the product has too much soy.

Soy is grown to be an emulsifier in foods. An emulsifier is a food additive that prevents separation of sauces or other processed foods. Soy is used widely in Asia, where it is fermented. The United States does not ferment the soy beans, leaving in the toxins. This may be part of the problem which Dianne suggests. More and more babies are being fed soy milk, resulting in health issues as they grow up. Studies indicate Mrs. Gregg may be right, but she may also be wrong. Would it really hurt to lessen the amount of soy in your diet? Read her book. The price is low enough so you can buy it, but it’s also well worth spending those few dollars to understand the dangers soy can have on your own health and that of your family.

Honey and Cinnamon for health

Health

arthritis

bladder infection

cholestrol

cinnamon

gas

heart disease

honey

upset stomach
<guid

I feel if enough people complain about this issue, perhaps something will be done. I am tired of being the one who gets the raw deal. I want to be able to hold my head up and say I did something about credit cards freezing money in people’s checking accounts. Why did they decide to do the freeze at a gas station and not when I used the debit card at the local grocery store? I just don’t understand their way of thinking, but I sure would like to know why this is being done. Stay tuned!

Ripped off at the pump=continued!

My Opinion

card

FTC

gas

Ripoffreports
<guid

I finally reached the president of the bank in question only to have him talk down to me, like I was a dumb kid. He just infuriated me further when he told me the bank was not the one at fault. Then why did they take the $35 over draft fee? The money was there to pay the initial debit transaction. The “frozen” money should have been UNFROZEN and taken away. Not an over draft fee attached! Literally, the bank STOLE that $35 from me.

I also reached Mr. Becker, who is a representative of Shell. He told me banks will do this type of freeze, but it’s mainly because the credit card companies who issue the debit cards insist this be done. In my case it’s a Mastercard. The gas stations have no ability to reach into the bank accounts to put this freeze on the account. Mastercard (and Visa) do this because they are not getting their fees due to the person using the card as a debit card. So they attach the freeze onto the checking account, hoping to trap the person using the card. Mr. Becker told me he feels this is illegal. I totally agree.

I was also told by the local legislature representative’s office to file a complaint through the attorney generals office. I did this last evening. I also intend to file with the Better Business Bureau and the FTC. I am also going to post on Ripoffreports.com and Consumerist.com. No one should be ripped off like I was.

Ripped off at the pump!

My Opinion

debit

freeze

gas

overdraft

Ripped
<guid

The owner of one gas station informed me the banks impose the freeze on the checking account not the gas station owners. The bank managers tell me the opposite. One is lying, but which one? I intend to do some more calling and try to learn the real truth of this issue.

I believe imposing a fee on unsuspecting consumers is not right. In fact it should be downright illegal. I will continue to inform my readers of information received regarding using a debit card at a gas station pump. Check your local stations and see if there are any postings either on the pumps or inside the gas station to inform customers a freeze will be put on their checking account if they use a debit card at the pump. I found 1 station out of 3 who had such a sticker on their pumps.

gas + debit card= disaster!

My Opinion

fee

gas

overdraft

station
<guid

I used a debit card to purchase $15 worth of gas at a Shell station. What I didn’t know was they would “freeze” $90 on my checking account! I didn’t have that much in my account, so now I have a $35 overdraft fee to pay. I am not a happy camper at all! I am trying to get my bank to delete that fee as I feel this is an unfair practice pulled by the gas station. I have since learned this happens a lot. If you use a credit card they will “freeze” $1. Yes, that’s right, ONE DOLLAR. So why the huge freeze for a debit card that would pay out quickly? I have no clue.

I did learn by going onto the Internet that I am not the only person this has happened to. If you want to read more just Goggle debit card + gas and you will find the information. I intend to go back to that Shell station and complain. I don’t know if it will do me any good, but I would certainly feel better getting it off my chest. If enough people complain maybe the gas stations will stop this practice. I feel it is not only unfair but should be illegal. Pass this on to all your family and friends. Let them know this could happen to them. I was lucky enough not to have more than $35 deducted. Some people ended up bouncing a lot of checks and incurred high overdraft fees. Be careful since there are too many companies out there trying to rip off the people who can’t afford to have this happen. With gas prices as high as they are right now, it seems to just be another way to aggravate the situation.
