Amazing credit cards and car insurance ads

When I checked my blog tonight, I got quite a laugh. There was a Geico ad next the my opinions on car insurance commercials. Also an ad for credit cards! So now we will be bombarded with ads online in our blogs, even when we actually are trashing these companies and their advertisements. I find that hilarious at this point. I should send out an invitation for the Aflac duck to invade my blog!

I am just so discouraged anymore with these commercials. Watching one 1 hour TV program last night I counted 4 car insurance commercials in the first half hour! One company does it for me. I don’t see the company I use advertising very much. That’s good, because when I need them they will be there for me and I won’t have to worry about getting a decent dollar back. I also feel good because my agent is local and not over the Internet. In fact, I know my agent. He’s a nice guy who has nice people working in his office just a few blocks from where I live. I prefer it that way…personal and close by.

So, what’s in your wallet? Money, I hope and little plastic! My wallet is not chock full of credit cards. I prefer it that way. I have one. That’s all I need. If I can’t pay cash, then maybe I don’t need that item all that badly. Now I see there are Internet sites that let you choose the card you feel best fits your needs. If you go there, I hope you make the right choice. Do research first, extensive research!

Auto Insurance commercials= yuck!

Just like all those annoying phone calls you get about credit cards, now we have commercials on TV and radio. This company and that one better than all the rest? Really, how dumb do these companies think the American public is? Do we have signs above our heads that say “here’s a stupid person who thinks he can save a lot of money on car insurance”? With all the money these companies are spending, you have to wonder where that advertising money comes from. I can tell you it’s from the people who have paid for that brand name of car insurance. I wonder how things will be when they do have a claim. Do they get a fair shake and a nice enough check to cover the damage? Or do they get bottom line rate and just enough to cover a cheapskate repair shop?

I would love to see the Geico gecko being run over by a car! The cavemen were bad enough, but at least they were smart enough not to totally insult us. This company and that one all trying to sell car insurance is getting on my nerves. I have begun using the MUTE button on the remote control quite a bit. It’s nice not to have to hear this garbage about car insurance constantly. That skinny cartoon for EInsurance is a nuisance, too. I’m not just picking on one company, mind you. I am picking on all of them! Yes, we all need car insurance, but the amounts of money these companies spend daily makes you wonder if your auto insurance company will be able to pay you the right rate when it comes to covered repairs.

I wonder what other people think of all these insurance commercials? It’s not just auto insurance, either. There’s health insurance, pet insurance, life insurance and insurance insurance. And don’t forget Aflac so we have insurance if we can’t work. Why? Because we need to work to pay the insurances we have or need! We are to be insuranced to death! Do we need all this? Yes, we need most of it, but are we getting our monies worth? Time will tell.Have to go now…I’ve used my 15 minutes.

Those annoying commercials!

If there is anything to dislike on TV it’s some of the commercials. Have you ever seen a Gecko before Geico put him on TV? I think he is one of the most annoying creatures on commercials these days. Do you feel like I do? Our intelligence has been insulted so many times. How about the pizza commercial where the woman says, “What do we do with the other 28 minutes?” I mean, that is so insulting to a man! And that unibrow woman for the nuts? It’s making men seem stupid. I am definitely not a male, but I do have someone dear to me who I was not like insulted in such a manner. There have been commercials that insult women being aired, too. Like the deodorant commercial where the women all go after the geeky guy because he smells good. Please! We aren’t that dumb!
Then there are the commercials that are extremely LOUD! Do the sponsors really think they can get your attention that way? To me the MUTE button on the channel changer is the best one to hit at that time. I also cannot tolerate the continuous flow of commercials when you are watching your favorite show. I mean, how many can they squeeze into an hour program? We’re lucky if we get 40 minutes of a good show after eliminating all the commercials. Last night we watched an hour program which turned out to be 44 minutes of the good stuff. The rest of the hour was commercials. I do realize the commercials are what is paying for the programing, but I think commercials are just being too annoying. This is my pet peeve right now. Believe me, I will be adding commercials to this blog as I see them!
