Biden’s interview with WFTV

It seems there is a big controversy today regarding the interview with Senator Biden and Barbara West of WFTV in Florida. The questions she asked were definitely not stupid ones, but he seemed to insult her by insinuating that she was asking questions he shouldn’t have to answer. In a sense he was doing what Obama tends to do best-evade the question by going in circles to skirt a decent answer. As for Ms. West’s questions about spreading the wealth and creating a Marxist type of government, Mr. Biden really did not give a direct answer. This does frighten me. Are we to have a government much like the Soviet Union? Personally, I would not be happy about that. Obama tends to have created a nation of “sleeper cells” who will vote for him, lambs being brought to the slaughter on Election Day.

I was very upset to hear that someone had the guts to hack into Sarah Palin’s email. Have they tried to get into Obama’s? Biden’s? McCain’s? Oh, forgot, he wouldn’t have any since he’s not really computer savy. Just goes to show some older folks don’t want to learn the new technology. Doesn’t mean they are stupid in other respects. Me? I’m not even close to McCain’s age, but I admit I don’t know everything there is to know about a computer. No, I didn’t hack into the email. I can’t even find my way around the Internet as yet! I have a lot to learn and I admit that, too.

I certainly hope nothing much was learned about Sarah that will be broadcast anywhere. Personal email should be kept personal. I try very hard not to send along things I don’t want someone else to know and I hope she didn’t email something that will fire back at her. Whoever did this horrible deed should be punished. I hope there will be a “case solved” marked on this one.

In reading a local newspaper report of the two political conventions, I gathered some interesting data on both parties. In no way am I trying to convince anyone to vote for a specific candidate. I would ask that you vote very carefully.

Obama: He blamed the Bush administration for the economy and criticized the Republican party for not addressing the issue in greater detail. He also he would offer a tax break to middle and working class families, which would provide relief to 95 % of the population. He plans to invest $15 billion each year in alternate energy over the next decade. He wanted to revitalize manufacturing by investing in cleaner, alternative energy and will offer tax credits for clean energy companies that will keep jobs in the U.S. He said “We can create five million jobs in solar, wind, bio-diesel, hydro, geothermal. All those jobs are well-paying jobs and they can’t be outsourced”. Biden said the Republican party didn’t mention enough about jobs, health care, the economy and things that matter to people.Alex Conant, a spokesman for the Republican National Committee, said “Apparently Obama was not listening when McCain and Palin offered their plans to keep taxes low and create new jobs. On the other hand, Obama’s economic policies would only raise taxes and eliminate jobs.” Biden also stated: “America needs more than a great soldier. America needs a wise leader.”

McCain: While he has a strong voting record against abortion rights, seldom likes to talk about this social issue or his religious faith. The Democrats have been blasting him as an enemy of abortion rights. Former Senator Fred Thompson of Tennessee said McCain would be a president who doesn’t thin that the protection of the unborn or a newly born baby is about his pay grade. He also stated that an Obama presidency would mean a Supreme Court lost to liberalism for the next generation. The Republicans were not thrilled that Obama made a comment in San Francisco that he believed :small town Pennsylvanians cling to guns and religion because of their economic anxiety”. Please remember Sarah Palin is from a small town in Alaska. Was this a remark about McCain’s choice of running mate?

It would seem the mud slinging has begun. Where will the next “fight” be staged? I am looking forward to any debates that are upcoming. After all, there are less than 60 days until we vote for the next president. Will the American people put this country in jeopardy by voting for the wrong man? What is the future for the United States beginning in 2009? I wonder.
