In the flower bed in our front yard there are Stars of Bethlehem blooming along with daffodils and hyacinths with a scattering of blue bells here and there. The fragrance is wonderful, reminding me of warmer days ahead. The yellow of the daffodils brilliantly illuminates that flower bed. The pink, white, purple and yellow of the hyacinths mingles with the bright yellow. Just seeing that flower bed each morning gives me a renewed spirit, reminding me of rebirth. The birds are busy with their nest building, adding bits of this and that to insulate and reinforce their nests. Before long there will be baby birds peeking out of those nests. Again rebirth.
Easter is tomorrow. A spiritual celebration for the religious, but a time of renewal in this world. We all need to take a step forward and look on the brighter side. With all the talk of bad economy, home foreclosures and the stock market rising and falling, we have had a gloomy few months. Now that Spring is here we need to see that there is a brighter future out there. We just have to have faith, much like those flowers that come up year after year. Like the birds who come back to build their nests and start a new family each year. Rebirth. Rejoice. Renew. Have faith in yourself and your ability to come through the hard times and forge ahead much like our ancestors did when they began this nation. Spring forward.
