Thread your needle and put it through a sheet befoer you sew. This helps keep the thread from untangling.
If you use a sewing machine, make sure you use the small brush that came with it to clean the bobbin area after working with certain materials. Some materials such a fake fur or velour give off way too much dust and fuzz. Do this cleaning now and then to make sure you don’t have any hassles when you want to use the machine next time.
Make sure to use the same thread for both the bobbin and the threading for the needle. Using two differnent kinds of thread will result in the thread constantly tearing.
