I watched with interest today. Two famous women talking about Palin’s new book Going Rougue. I found this interview fascinating. Sarah Palin came across like a neighbor discussing local events and family with another neighbor. Calm and relaxed, she gave good responses to the questions Oprah asked her. It was nothing like the Katie Couric interview, which I felt there was too much background noise. Even with the audience in Oprah’s studio, Palin didn’t seem as rushed as she did with Couric. Was it the interviewer who made her feel more relaxed and at ease? Or was it the fact that she was no longer a candidate for Vice President?
Even questions about her daughter Bristol and the ex boyfriend Levi didn’t seem to phase Palin. She answered questions honestly and without anger directed at Levi. Of course, she was correct in reminding everyone that teenage pregnancy is something that needs to be discussed among families. She did admit not having a good feelings about Levi’s road to fame and his willingness to pose for Playgirl. I don’t know if I wouldn’t feel the same. The choices of the younger generation can rattle a parent’s nerves very quickly. But Sarah Palin stayed calm as Oprah asked if Levi was welcome for Thanksgiving dinner. Palin smiled and gave an open invitation.
I felt this interview went extremely well and Palin should be pleased with the whole thing. I am sure Oprah was pleased. Promoting her book and discussing her future, Palin was smiling all the while. Perhaps she does have a future in American politics. Only time will tellic,.
