Yesterday I received a call from the bank manager. Due to a letter I had written she got my money back. I am still going to another banking institution, though. I cannot stay where I feel I am not wanted. This is a major change for me since I have the hassle of changing direct deposit at work and the account numbers for paying bills online.
In all, I feel the whole thing was worth while. It took some time to pursue, but in the end I got what I wanted…almost. I did get an apology from the bank manager, but not the bank president. I doubt if I ever will. I did explain how he treated me was the last straw. I like to deal with people who show me the kind of respect I show them. In his case, that didn’t happen. I will miss certain people at the bank, but I know I will eventually find others at the new bank that are just as helpful and friendly.
If you really pursue an issue, make sure you document all dates, times, names, and phone numbers. Write a sentence or two in a notebook what happened during the call. Make sure you keep this notebook going until you get the end result. Mine will now be filed for at least a year. I don’t throw out my notes on such things. Make sure you have all the information you need, your notebook, and a pen when you place a phone call. Always be prepared. If you go after a company or store, I hope you have luck in getting a good result, one that you are satisfied with. As for me, I am now trying to determine if what the credit card company did was legal. I still feel this should not happen to anyone.
