From what I have heard on the TV lately, Obama has chosen wisely to surround himself with a stable economic advisory committee. I do like some of his choices, and hope they will be able to figure out what can be done to fix the economy. Right now we need more jobs, more stability in our lives. My friend has been laid off 9 months now, with no prospects of a job to be had. He called tonight to see if I knew of any places hiring in my area. Signs of HELP WANTED are few and if there are any, the wages are low. Another acquaintance asked about a job at a local grocery store, but for $8 an hour he can’t bring in enough money to pay his mortgage and feed his family. I wonder what will happen when Obama takes over in January. Will he follow through with campaign promises to bring jobs to this country? How can he think that building roads and bridges will spur an economy when a lot of people are not skilled to do that sort of a job? I can’t see some who has a lifetime of experience in another line of work building roads. I know I wouldn’t be able to do such a job. So what’s he going to do for the rest of us who can’t do that type of work? Or are we supposed to take the $8 an hour jobs?
