There will be approximately 2.25 million foreclosures this year. The government needs to focus on finding a way to help people from losing their homes. There is a definite link between foreclosures and the economy. This is very clear to most citizens. President elect Obama has said his blueprint for recovery will include help for homeowners facing foreclosure. He will do something right away after he gets in to office if President Bush doesn’t do something sooner. He stressed a plan should be similar to the Home Owner Loan Corp. initiated in 1933 to help refinance homes during the Great Depression. Gov. Corzine of New Jersey suggested a halt for 3 to 6 months on any foreclosures to give the government time to work out a more aggressive plan. Let’s hope the government won’t drag their feet over this issue. We need action now not in 6 months.
