If this ever happens to you while frying something slide a tight fitting lid onto the pan. Don’t slam it on the pan because that can make things worse. You just might spread the fire instead of containing it. No tight fitting lid? Try a large baking sheet. Turn off the heat source, then move the pan to a cool burner. Never ever put a grease fire into the sink. Never cover a grease fire with a wet cloth or throw salt on the flames. And never use a fire extinguisher. If it’s too much to handle get out of the house and call the fire department. Don’t take a chance on your life!
