GAS PRICES RISING

April 21st, 2008 · No Comments · My Opinion

Yesterday I drove to see my Mom, 45 miles one way. While the trip isn’t usually a problem, I did see a lot of potential problems along the way…gas stations empty of patrons. Why? Could it have been the sign that announced gas at $3.55 a gallon? And that was for the regular! Diesel was way over $4.50 a gallon. I kept checking gas stations along the way, finding they varied from station to station, the lowest being set at $3.44. How much longer is this going to happen? Are we to get up to the $4.00 and more level before summer? Is this part of a government conspiracy or really a huge world wide problem?

I emailed my friend in Germany to see how much gas was there a gallon. She was nice enough to make the price into dollars and cents for me. $6.90 a gallon. I know the Euro is lower right now than the dollar, but still, that’s a lot to pay for gas. When is this going to end? Will having a new president help? I seriously doubt our economy will pick up anytime soon. I dread rising gas prices. Who can afford a new vehicle, home, or even a pair of shoes? All my money seems to go into the gas tank!
