Ok! I have some great cleaning tips. I try to find the best ways to get around the stains, dust bunnies, and usual clutter in the shortest time possible. There are just too many things to do besides clean! So here goes a bunch of neat things I’ve learned. I hope they will help you to get your cleaning done faster.
I learned some things about stains. For instance, rust stains: can be removed from concrete by using lemon juice and a soft cloth, rubbing until the rust is gone. You can clean the greasy, messy barbecue grill easy-just lay it on the lawn overnight! The dew combines with the enzymes in the grass to loosen up the burned on grease. This also works for oven racks. The best part is there isn’t any scrubbing! Another quick fix to freshen you home is to use a mixture of baking soda with ground cinnamon or cloves. Just sprinkle it over your carpet, let it sit a while, then vacuum. This will make the vacuum cleaner smell better, too. Just don’t overdo the spice if you don’t like a strong smell. Baking soda is a really cheap cleaner? You can get a nice shine on counters, floors, and tile using baking soda and a wet sponge. No nasty smells left behind, either.Everything will smell nice and fresh. And speaking of fresh smells, did you know Alka Seltzer tablets will clean the toilet? Just drop in 2 or 3 tablets and let it sit for a few minutes before you brush.Like I said before these are easy tips and you don’t have to work really hard to get the chores done. By the way, does the interior of your car smell raunchy? Try putting some charcoal briquettes under the seat. I would advise putting these in a vented plastic bag so they won’t be sliding all over the floor while you are driving. The charcoal will absorb whatever smelly thing you had in the car and forgot to take out. I also found that using some baby powder in kitty litter will make it smell so much nicer.
Got little kids who like to draw? On your walls? I learned a few thins about that, too, although some people don’t mind having wall art. Crayon smears can be removed using WD-40 and just wiping them away with a clean cloth. You can also use a hair dryer to melt the crayon was and then just wipe the wall clean.Of course, don’t forget to remind your little Picasso that paper would be a better thing to draw on since it can be saved for the future!
Stains on carpeting? Easy! Use a baby wipe! It will clean up just about any stain -simply blot the excess liquid with a paper towel, then use the baby wipe.It might be handy to have one of those small boxes of baby wipes around, even if your children are grown. Of course, you may find that you will need to explain why you have the baby wipes around the house! And did you know you can clean up ink stains? Rubbing alcohol will clean up those ink stains and permanent marker stains. Please dab lightly because if you rub it you may create a smear. If that little Picasso used ink on your walls you can remove it by dabbing with bleach. Just be careful not to overdo these last two because it may take off some of your paint.
You can use salt to get tea stains out of cups. Just sprinkle some salt on a towel and rub. Then rinse well.
Vinegar can remove those nasty price tags from bottles. You just soak the bottles in the vinegar and then scrape the labels off with a spatula. White vinegar gets spots off stainless steel. I wouldn’t use a whole lot of vinegar, though. Just a little bit. You can also use white vinegar in the washing machine’s rinse cycle to reduce skin irritation from soap residue. It will make your clothes softer and you won’t need fabric softener sheets. And you can make your own wood polish: just mix 1 cup of olive oil and 1/4 cup of vinegar in a plastic spray bottle. Shake well, spray on a cloth, and wipe dust and dirt away.It seems the vinegar cuts the dirt and helps clean the wood. The oil lubricates the wooden surfaces.
I have a good use for coffee filters, too. Use them to clean the TV or computer screens. You won’t see lint on the screens if you use the filters. Sponges can be cleaned of bacteria by putting them in your microwave for 1 minute on high. That will take care of the those nasty germs.!
