With thousands of people missing or dead, buildings toppled, and relief efforts underway, what can we do for the people of Haiti besides donating money to the Red Cross? We can pray. Pray for the dead, the missing, the lost. Pray for the people who are volunteering their time and efforts to help by searching for the missing. Pray for those who are giving food and water to the survivors. Pray for the doctors and nurses who are helping the wounded. Pray for the safety of rescuers when they are moving large remainders of buildings to find the wounded, dead or alive victims. Pray the people of Haiti will be able to pull themselves out of the rubble left behind by a terrible earthquake and survive. Take time in your day to say a short prayer for these poor victims and their families elsewhere in the world who are worrying about the missing relatives. Prayer works.
