Your Christmas Tree

December 13th, 2007 · No Comments · General

For a real live tree it’s easiest to water it with a turkey baster. It’s less of a mess and you won’t spill the water when it’s time to make sure your tree stand has enough water in it to sustain the tree.

If you lightly spray the tree with spray starch the tree will last longer for you. Do this before you decorate the tree.

If you run out of wire hangers for ornaments you can use twist ties or take a paper clip and bend it to form a hook.

If you are afraid the tree will topple or if you have small children around, you can anchor the tree using fishing line (it’s almost invisible). Put a hook in the wall or attach the fishing line to a hook on the ceiling. If your tree is nearest to the banister you can tie the line onto the banister.

When putting the tree lights away at the end of the season try wrapping the lights around a paper towel roll. You can tuck the ends inside to keep it neater. And it will be a lot easier to decorate next year.

For an artificial tree dip the ends of each branch into some petroleum jelly so the branches will pull out easier when you disassemble the tree.
