Congratulations to Beyonce and her man. They are now parents of a sweet baby girl. But I do wonder how that child will feel as she grows up with such a strange name? I have often thought of this when I hear anyone , not just celebrities, naming a new baby with weird names.

I would love to hear from my readers on this one. How about some of the names of the past? I thought Oprah was strange, but then again how about some of the ones we’ve heard in the past years? Apple for a little girl. How does she feel now that she’s older? I know there are boys with some strange names, too, but most of those are playing baseball and football it seems. They have gone above their given names.

Do you have a strange name? Or one with an unusual spelling? If so, what reason did your parents give you when you inquired about your name? I know I was named for a movie star my Mother liked a the time. And my brothers also. I guess my parents had no imagination as we all have what are called “common” names. Is having an unusual name a good thing or a bad one? Comments anyone???

I have been following the recent news about Amanda Knox, the Seattle woman who was in the Italian jail system after police there determined she killed her room mate. However, due to some sloppy detective work and the ability to have forensics re-evaluate the evidence, she is now a free woman. Makes you wonder how things would have been if not for the science of forensics.

Decades ago Amanda would have been in jail for the full term. Forensics is a newer science, one which has new discoveries all the time. It has always fascinated people and has become one of the many parts of a good detective show on tv or in the movies. Forensics will be first and foremost in all crime scenes. Amanda can thank the people who do this science for her freedom today.

There’s not a doubt in my mind that Dr. Williams is correct and we’re going to be in for another four years unless he’s impeached by our Congress.

No Matter What

Can President Obama be defeated in 2012? No. He can’t.    I am going on record as saying that President Barak Obama will win a second term.

The media won’t tell you this because a good election campaign means hundreds of millions (or in Obama’s case billions) of dollars to them in advertising.

But the truth is, there simply are no conditions under which Barak Obama can be defeated in 2012.
The quality of the Republican candidate doesn’t matter.   Obama gets reelected. Nine percent unemployment?   No problem. Obama will win. Gas pricesmoving toward five dollars a gallon? He still wins. The economy soars or goes into the gutter. Obama wins. War in the Middle East? He wins a second term.

America’s role as the leading Superpower disappears? Hurrah for Barak Obama! The U.S. government rushes toward bankruptcy, the dollar continues to sink on world markets and the price of daily goods and services soars due to inflation fueled by Obama’s extraordinary deficit spending? Obama wins handily.

You are crazy Williams. Don’t you understand how volatile politics can be when overall economic, government, and world conditions are declining? Sure I do.

And that’s why I know Obama will win. The American people are notoriously ignorant of economics. And economics is the key to why Obama should be defeated.

Even when Obama’s policies lead the nation to final ruin, the majority of the American people are going to believe the bait-and-switch tactics Obama and his supporters in the media will use to explain why it isn’t his fault. After all, things were much worse than understood when he took office.

Obama’s reelection is really a very, very simple math problem. Consider the following:

1) Blacks will vote for Obama blindly. Period. Doesn’t matter what he does. It’s a race thing. He’s one of us,

2) College educated women will vote for Obama. Though they will be offended by this, they swoon at his oratory.   It’s really not more complex than that,3) Liberals will vote for Obama. He is their great hope,

4) Democrats will vote for Obama. He is the leader of their party and his coat tails will carry them to victory nationwide,

5) Hispanics will vote for Obama. He is the path to citizenship for those who are illegal and Hispanic leaders recognize the political clout they carry in the Democratic Party,

6) Union members will vote overwhelmingly for Obama. He is their key to money and power in business, state and local politics,

7) Big Business will support Obama. They already have. He has almost $1 Billion dollars in his reelection purse gained largely from his connections with Big Business and is gaining more everyday. Big Business loves Obama because he gives them access to taxpayer money so long as they support his social and political agenda,

The media love him. They may attack the people who work for him, but they love him. After all, to not love him would be racist,

9) Most other minorities and special interest groups will vote for him. Oddly, the overwhelming majority of Jews and Muslims will support him because they won’t vote Republican. American Indians will support him. Obviously homosexuals tend to vote Democratic. And lastly,

10) Approximately half of independents will vote for Obama. And he doesn’t need anywhere near that number because he has all of the groups previously mentioned. The President will win an overwhelming victory in 2012.

Population of counties won by: Obama:127millionMcCain: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 McCain: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income tenements and living off variousforms of government welfare…”

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the “complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached the ”governmental dependency” phase.If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal’s – and they vote – then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.

Skyler Kauffman, 9 year old murder victim

Skyler was outside her apartment building playing. A neighbor kidnapped her, beat, raped and chocked her in the basement of the apartment building. He said he bashed her head against the basement floor a couple of times. He dumped her body in a trash bin in the apartment complex. An Amber alert went out to no avail. By the time police began looking for Skyler she was already dead.

The man admitted to her murder and rape. He said she had taunted him once before. This is a reason for what he did to her? We as parents need to be more alert on what our children are doing and where they are playing. Didn’t anyone see this man grabbed Skyler? It was daylight when he took her, right around supper time. But at least the killer is in jail, not able to grab yet another child.

Casey Anthony Trial begins

Will the world ever know the complete truth of what happened to 2 year old Kaylee Anthony? Will Casey ever tell the truth? It sure doesn’t seem like she has her family’s backing. Her own mother thinks Casey is a psychopath. Others who did testify saw her as possibly bi-polar. While Casey is being charged with first degree murder, she has plead not guilty. Who then killed the child? Who buried her poor little body? Was Casey’s father involved? There is a lot of speculation on this trial. I do feel there will be many heated discussions in the coming weeks. The big question is will Kaylee’s killer ever be revealed? Will the truth eventually come out?

My thoughts on the death of Bin Laden

I wonder if there will be retaliation for Bin Laden’s death. Are there enough terrorists under his regime who will come after the United States? Are there some here right now in our country who will try to commit more terroristic acts? Are we really safe? Ever?

The death of Bin Laden was a long time coming. For all the things he did to the world, causing many deaths, we should all be grateful to the Navy Seals who took him out and buried him at sea. I applaud them. They deserve medals. But if they are given such it would need to be done in secrecy so other terrorists aren’t tempted to go after our heroes. I do not feel there will ever be a world without terrorism. It is was it is, but do we have to continue to worry about terrorism? Yes, I do believe we will always have to keep up our guard.

To the Navy Seals who were on the mission and who took out Bin Laden, many thanks. God bless you and your families. God bless the good old U.S.A.

Japan in turmoil

I have been watching the news about the tragedies in Japan. First the horrible earthquakes, then the tsunami crashing through the nation. Now the reactors having problems. What’s really sad is that there are now millions of Japanese who are totally homeless. I watched as some gathered around a barrel that had a fire in it, trying to get warm while snow fell around them. They are wondering what their government will do for them now. I heard donations of money are being accepted to help the Japanese. I do hope the money will get to those who need it. Japan is a proud nation, but one who now needs help. Let us hope they accept whatever help they can get.

Attacks in Libya

Gadhafi must be totally nuts. How can he say his people are loyal and love him, then turn around and fire upon them? How can he stay in power? What kind of hold does he have on the few people of Libya who are staying by him and firing on their own countrymen? A civil war is bad enough, but having a leader like Gadhafi at the helm of the nation is the worst.

Today the United Nations acknowledged the civilians needed help. France and the United States fired on military targets in Libya. Let’s pray this won’t last long and Gadhafi will either step down or surrender.

Egypt- free at last

I have been following the reports of the demonstrations in Cairo the past few days, amazed at the turnout of people who wanted President Mubarak to end his regime, that of a authoritarian rule. It took 18 days of peaceful negotiations to end this government. While military is now in power, there will be steps taken to dissolve the current parliament to begin creating a transitional government. This is wonderful for the people of Egypt.

Now picture our forefathers pulling off such a thing? It would never have happened, this I realize, but so many people died for our country to be free. In Egypt about 100 died. But they died for a very important cause.

The amazing thing was this regime was ended due to the Internet. Facebook and other Internet social websites informed Egyptians of police abuse and corruption. A small group of liberal youth activists started the ball rolling and it just took off like wildfire. Yesterday Egyptians were able to dance in the streets and praise God for their ability to bring down the authoritarian ruling party. Now is the beginning of a new Egypt with a new government of the people and for the people.

In the Northeast, land of snow and ice…

I don’t know many people who are not saying, “Another snow and ice storm?” We are tired of the white stuff and hate the idea of ice on top of the mess. Piles of snow are everywhere, making driving rather hard at times when you reach an intersection and some jerk piled the snow so high you can’t see over it. I mean, what gives? Who’s brain went nuts when it comes to the corners of a street?

And then there are the people who decide to put chairs and garbage cans to “save their parking space” in front of their homes. The police are giving out tickets for this. Really? Don’t the police have other things to occupy themselves? Find the people who are robbing stores and banks, beating up the homeless and elderly, killing others. I can’t see police going street by street to give tickets for parking spaces saved.

Then again we have the people who work for dear old …DOT. Doesn’t matter what state you live in. These people are out all hours clearing the roads and putting down salt or brine to keep the roads from being slippery. The one thing they could do better is to be careful about the corners of the streets so the piles aren’t high. They tend to forget they are in taller vehicles than most of us drive. I don’t envy them having to go out in all hours and all kinds of weather. That’s what they were hired to do and they knew it when they applied for the jobs.

To anyone who doesn’t have snow right now…want some? Come get some (sorry, John Cena!). We are tired of it. We want to see the darn stuff melt. We want to see green grass, leaves forming on the trees, flowers peeking through the ground. Give us Springtime and warmer weather. We are tired of the freezing cold and the snow. We don’t want any more of it. Then again, I have to admit I don’t live in the upper regions of the U.S. Bangor, Maine is at -8 degrees, not counting a wind chill factor. I know North Dakota gets very cold, too. And I sure wouldn’t want to live in Alaska. Here in Pennsylvania, maybe we aren’t doing so badly. But we really are tired of the snow.
