Why was Joshua voted off Idol?

It seems to me this season is totally messed up. Colton, then Skylar and now Joshua. All the really good ones are gone. Just Jessica and Phillip. I don’t care for either of them at all.

Jessica doesn’t seem to be singing the best she can as far as I am concerned. She isn’t an entertainer on stage like Skylar. Jessica doesn’t move enough. She mainly stands there or if she does move, it’s not far, and it seems like she is doing it because she had been told to do it. Skylar would move around on the stage like she was born to entertain. I don’t feel entertained with Jessica.

Phillip has been compared to Bruce Springstein. Not so! I am a big Boss fan. Phillip doesn’t even remotely compare to Bruce. Phillip doesn’t really impress me and I don’t feel he belongs in the top 2.

Joshua will go far in a singing career. Even JLo recognized that. The boy can sing! He has impressed me so much that I thought he would win Idol this year.

Is it possible something was “fixed” with the voting? I still can’t believe Jessica and Phillip are the top 2. And I won’t be watching it next week. I don’t want either of them to win.

Why I hate Facebook

First of all, I don’t have an account at Facebook. I don’t want one. I sure don’t need one, either.

Someone I know has a Facebook account where this person who I will refer to as # from now on, has been posting some very nasty things about family and friends. This has caused a lot of problems. I have asked # to not do this, but # says it can post whatever it wants to. I have also forwarded some information as to why it’s not a good idea to post nasty things on Facebook only to have # become very angry at me.

It has become apparent that some companies will be asking for Facebook account information to determine what kind of person you are. Posting negative things all the time about friends and family would present you as someone they don’t want to hire since you would cause problems within the company. Negativity is not a good thing.

The President says gay marriage is ok

What I wonder about his statement on gay marriage is if he is trying to drum up votes for his re-election from the gay community. I don’t trust him at all and definitely nothing that comes out of his mouth is gospel.

I have nothing against gay couples marrying. Why can’t they have the person they love be their “wife” or “husband” ? They are entitled to love someone. I just never understood why so many people are against these unions. I don’t think it should be called marriage, though, since I do believe marriage is between a man and a woman. Can we please call them united? Or coupled? Does it have to be “marriage”?

So far Romney has stated he does not agree with what Obama is saying. Whether Romney is right or wrong, will his stand against gay couples uniting be for or against him when it comes time to vote for our next president? This will be interesting to watch unfold.

Will gay couples insist on a law allowing them to unite in every state? Will each state have the choice of allowing such uniting or will the federal government have to get involved in passing an amendment? I see the future holds a lot of questions. Since most of the legislature is of the older generation I don’t see this happening any time soon. Does this mean younger pe0ple need to be voted into the Senate and Congress to have such an amendment passed? This remains to be seen.

OnCor products- complaint department again

I recently purchased OnCor’s “family size” Salisbury steaks. In the past year or so they have not only shrunk the box but also the patties. Smaller in size and much thinner. One package is NOT enough for a family unless everyone in the family is on a strict diet! I contacted the company by email to complain. In today’s mail I got a short letter telling me they were sorry I was disappointed and enclosed a coupon for a free package of the family size! What I would have liked was my money back! Now I have a coupon for another free package of a product I told the company I would never purchase again! Does that make sense? I’ll use the coupon and feed the stuff to my pets! That’s what I think of their product!

Complaint Department…this time Gortons Foods

I tried the new Gorton’s Simply Fish…what a mess! The fish comes in 2 individual packets that you put on a pan in the oven to bake. The sauce is supposed to cover the fish while baking. When you take the packets out of the oven they are bloated. Carefully opening the packets, the sauce comes pouring out…all over the counter, the floor…everywhere you don’t want it to go!The fish in this case was about 1/3 the size of the packet! Not worth the price at all. The taste wasn’t bad, but I ended up making french bread pizza as we were still hungry!

I emailed Gorton’s to complain about this. They responded by saying they were working on the problem of the sauce. They said they would send me a coupon. That’s exactly what I got…one coupon for a free product.

I have dealt with other companies in the past when I had a suggestion or problem. Most of the time I got more than ONE coupon for my endeavors. When Mom found a small piece of green plastic in a soda can she got 6 coupons for free 12 packs of the soda. I think some companies could be a bit more generous in giving out free coupons. I had never emailed Gorton’s before. I am not a constant complainer, but I am a consumer. Perhaps a change of brand name is in order.

Agency on Aging

I tried to help an elderly neighbor. So I called the Agency on Aging. I left a message for a certain Ms. G. She did return my call, after calling my neighbor to report that I had called about her! They have a privacy thing. Ok, that was bad enough, as I really didn’t want my neighbor to think I was poking into her business, even though I was.

I learned that unless there is an emergency, such as she’s running around outside the house naked with a knife in her hand, I really couldn’t help. Didn’t matter that she smells really nasty, her kitchen is overflowing with dirty dishes, the kitchen floor is horribly filthy, and her table was full of things, including a bunch of ants crawling around the open butter dish. They can’t help with those things. This woman is living in filth, but they can’t help her. It’s the way she chooses to live is what I was told.

By this time my ears were getting hot (as well as the phone!). I was so angry! I felt like I had wasted my time trying to help. I had made 5 phone calls to get this one agency, but it didn’t matter. My neighbor is on a waiting list. It will be months before someone will be able to help her. By that time she could be dead, overrun with filth, or stinking up the neighborhood!

As long as my neighbor bathes at least once a week, has food in the house, has shelter, and knows what she is doing they won’t interfere with her. This woman is diabetic, partially blind, and had a stroke years ago. Yet no one wants to help her. The other neighbors won’t bother with her as she say she is a mean old woman. That has been going on for years.

I tried to be helpful. I can’t do it anymore. I took her shopping for groceries and she bought junk food. She smelled up my car so bad I had to spray the seat with Lysol…repeatedly. I won’t allow her in my car again. I can’t take the chance that she won’t bring in some disease or bugs. I feel like I wasted my time and energy in trying to help. It did me no good.

If you are thinking about doing something like this think again. It took me over 20 phone calls in 2 days to find out that no one can help her unless she wants the help or requests it herself. What about those who have the beginnings of dementia? Those who have no family living nearby? Or no family at all? What are these elderly people supposed to do? They won’t realize they need to call these agencies themselves. To me it’s a rather stupid setup.

I learned my lesson. Keep to myself, keep my mouth shut, and ignore the obvious when it comes to the neighbors who are elderly. Let someone else deal with the problems that may occur.

Baby Blue Ivy

Congratulations to Beyonce and her man. They are now parents of a sweet baby girl. But I do wonder how that child will feel as she grows up with such a strange name? I have often thought of this when I hear anyone , not just celebrities, naming a new baby with weird names.

I would love to hear from my readers on this one. How about some of the names of the past? I thought Oprah was strange, but then again how about some of the ones we’ve heard in the past years? Apple for a little girl. How does she feel now that she’s older? I know there are boys with some strange names, too, but most of those are playing baseball and football it seems. They have gone above their given names.

Do you have a strange name? Or one with an unusual spelling? If so, what reason did your parents give you when you inquired about your name? I know I was named for a movie star my Mother liked a the time. And my brothers also. I guess my parents had no imagination as we all have what are called “common” names. Is having an unusual name a good thing or a bad one? Comments anyone???

Amanda Knox free

I have been following the recent news about Amanda Knox, the Seattle woman who was in the Italian jail system after police there determined she killed her room mate. However, due to some sloppy detective work and the ability to have forensics re-evaluate the evidence, she is now a free woman. Makes you wonder how things would have been if not for the science of forensics.

Decades ago Amanda would have been in jail for the full term. Forensics is a newer science, one which has new discoveries all the time. It has always fascinated people and has become one of the many parts of a good detective show on tv or in the movies. Forensics will be first and foremost in all crime scenes. Amanda can thank the people who do this science for her freedom today.

There’s not a doubt in my mind that Dr. Williams is correct and we’re going to be in for another four years unless he’s impeached by our Congress.

No Matter What

Can President Obama be defeated in 2012? No. He can’t.    I am going on record as saying that President Barak Obama will win a second term.

The media won’t tell you this because a good election campaign means hundreds of millions (or in Obama’s case billions) of dollars to them in advertising.

But the truth is, there simply are no conditions under which Barak Obama can be defeated in 2012.
The quality of the Republican candidate doesn’t matter.   Obama gets reelected. Nine percent unemployment?   No problem. Obama will win. Gas pricesmoving toward five dollars a gallon? He still wins. The economy soars or goes into the gutter. Obama wins. War in the Middle East? He wins a second term.

America’s role as the leading Superpower disappears? Hurrah for Barak Obama! The U.S. government rushes toward bankruptcy, the dollar continues to sink on world markets and the price of daily goods and services soars due to inflation fueled by Obama’s extraordinary deficit spending? Obama wins handily.

You are crazy Williams. Don’t you understand how volatile politics can be when overall economic, government, and world conditions are declining? Sure I do.

And that’s why I know Obama will win. The American people are notoriously ignorant of economics. And economics is the key to why Obama should be defeated.

Even when Obama’s policies lead the nation to final ruin, the majority of the American people are going to believe the bait-and-switch tactics Obama and his supporters in the media will use to explain why it isn’t his fault. After all, things were much worse than understood when he took office.

Obama’s reelection is really a very, very simple math problem. Consider the following:

1) Blacks will vote for Obama blindly. Period. Doesn’t matter what he does. It’s a race thing. He’s one of us,

2) College educated women will vote for Obama. Though they will be offended by this, they swoon at his oratory.   It’s really not more complex than that,3) Liberals will vote for Obama. He is their great hope,

4) Democrats will vote for Obama. He is the leader of their party and his coat tails will carry them to victory nationwide,

5) Hispanics will vote for Obama. He is the path to citizenship for those who are illegal and Hispanic leaders recognize the political clout they carry in the Democratic Party,

6) Union members will vote overwhelmingly for Obama. He is their key to money and power in business, state and local politics,

7) Big Business will support Obama. They already have. He has almost $1 Billion dollars in his reelection purse gained largely from his connections with Big Business and is gaining more everyday. Big Business loves Obama because he gives them access to taxpayer money so long as they support his social and political agenda,

The media love him. They may attack the people who work for him, but they love him. After all, to not love him would be racist,

9) Most other minorities and special interest groups will vote for him. Oddly, the overwhelming majority of Jews and Muslims will support him because they won’t vote Republican. American Indians will support him. Obviously homosexuals tend to vote Democratic. And lastly,

10) Approximately half of independents will vote for Obama. And he doesn’t need anywhere near that number because he has all of the groups previously mentioned. The President will win an overwhelming victory in 2012.

Population of counties won by: Obama:127millionMcCain: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 McCain: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income tenements and living off variousforms of government welfare…”

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the “complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached the ”governmental dependency” phase.If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal’s – and they vote – then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.

Skyler Kauffman, 9 year old murder victim

Skyler was outside her apartment building playing. A neighbor kidnapped her, beat, raped and chocked her in the basement of the apartment building. He said he bashed her head against the basement floor a couple of times. He dumped her body in a trash bin in the apartment complex. An Amber alert went out to no avail. By the time police began looking for Skyler she was already dead.

The man admitted to her murder and rape. He said she had taunted him once before. This is a reason for what he did to her? We as parents need to be more alert on what our children are doing and where they are playing. Didn’t anyone see this man grabbed Skyler? It was daylight when he took her, right around supper time. But at least the killer is in jail, not able to grab yet another child.
