I watched with sadness in my heart when the children were loaded into buses and taken from their mothers. Perhaps the mothers did something wrong in the eyes of the law, but those children are innocents. Imagine your child being taken from you because you happen to live in the wrong house with the wrong people? The government thinks they are doing the right thing. I disagree. In the future there areĀ going to be a lot of messed up, traumatized kids from this group. The smallest ones won’t really know what happened, the ones who are school age will be the ones who might rebel, but I believe it will be the teenagers who will be the ones who will be the most influenced with this government decision. The ones who are 11 to 13 will be the loudest to protest.
Would it have hurt to house the women with their children? To be taken over 500 miles from their mothers can’t be the right answer. What was the judge thinking? I sure wouldn’t vote for that judge in the next election. Why didn’t the governor do something? The children don’t know any better, but it seems neither does the government of Texas.
