Seeing that weather balloon floating in the sky and all the rescue efforts being done, I was as upset as other people. A young boy, age 6, was supposedly in that balloon base. The fact that he later turned up hiding in the garage made me think Thank God he’s safe. But then the media began to yell HOAX!
His family was on reality TV before with Wife Swap. Maybe this was the start of wanting to be one TV again, but the balloon adventure didn’t make me feel that this was a hoax. The oldest boy in the family was filming his parents doing a check on the balloon. The father, Richard Henne, had yelled at Falcon earlier because he was playing around the balloon. The older son told his parents he had seen Falcon at the base of the balloon earlier. But Falcon, child as he is, was hiding in the garage attic, upset that his father yelled at him earlier. Perhaps he was afraid even more so when the balloon took off. Maybe he would be blamed for unloosening the tie-downs.
I can understand the parents being upset about this whole incident. I do not believe this was a publicity stunt or hoax just to get on TV again, even though Falcon said he “did this for the show”. Perhaps he was reliving the Wife Swap show. Children do play and recreate things that made them happy. Perhaps Falcon was happy when the TV cameras were around and he was playing at being on a show again. So, do we take his words seriously? I am not about to do so. I don’t believe he was quite sure what to say when the cameras were shoved in his face by the media. The fact that he vomited twice during interviews has me thinking this child is very upset about all the attention he is currently getting.
Let me know what you think about this. Should this 6 year old be taken seriously for what he said? Do you think this was a hoax? Publicity stunt? Share your opinions.

I think it was all a Set Up for TV exposure.
Like Falcon said, “I did it for the show”…
The dad seems to me to be a confirmed “fringe element” with his BS storm chasing & trying to make mountains from mole hills. Then there’s the “Acting Classes” …
I’m convinced that this was all a deliberated set up. There may not be enough evidence for criminal charges but IMO there is enough evidence for a civil suit to recoup the cost of the emergency services.

.. Alderden called the incident a “hoax,” adding that investigators believe the evidence indicates that “it was a publicity stunt” by the family in hopes of “better marketing themselves for a reality television show.
.. Thomas said that at one point they were talking about the Roswell UFO incident of the late 1940s, when Heene said it would be easy to cook up “a media stunt that would be equally profound as Roswell, and we could do so with nothing more than a weather balloon and some controversy.”

What bothers me the most is what is he teaching his children? What type of parent is he? I had not heard about the acting classes when I first wrote the blog. I am as upset as others that such a hoax had us on the edge of our seats watching and praying the boy was safe. He should be made to pay for all the rescue services that were sent out besides landing in jail for the hoax. They had their 15 minutes of “shame”.
