I find it very difficult to believe any mother in her right mind would just give her son to a couple of strangers because “they looked like good people and I believe in my heart they are good people.” Elizabeth Johnson told this to police when arrested for custodial interference. She never got the couples’ name, address or phone number. Sounds strange, doesn’t it?

Ms. Johnson wanted to put her 8 month old son Gabriel up for adoption, but the father of her son didn’t want her to do that. She never showed up for the custody hearing as she left town with the baby. Gabriel hasn’t been seen since before Christmas. Where is he? Ms. Johnson will not say. The father doesn’t feel his son is dead. What happened to this child?

Ms. Johnson is currently in jail, refusing to cooperate with police on this matter. That child is out there somewhere, perhaps in the hands of strangers. Isn’t she afraid someone might harm her child? Teach him the wrong things? Or that she will never see her son again?
